How did I get a free iPod classic you ask? Well this story starts in 2006. I purchased Creative Zen Vision M from Dick Smith. I also purchased an extended warranty with it also. Everything worked fine intill late last year, I used it one night and the next morning it had white vertical lines on the screen. There was no physical damage to it.
This was within the warranty period. I email Creative support who after offering no help said that they would look at it for $300. So I sent of the warranty request. Due to the amount of time that had elapsed it was now outside the warranty period.
They rejected the claim. So in return I sent them back an email which stated that my problem was a known fault with the Creative Zen Vision M and that I had contacted there technical support department and that the problem had occurred within the warranty period.
In return they sent me back an 160GB iPod classic. Not a bad deal I think. Now I’m hoping that the hard drive noise I’m hearing is normal. I will be taking it to the apple store next week to check.
